2014 Tequila Tasting Night
Our 2nd Annual Tequila Tasting Night event was held on Mexico's Independence month and we are happy to report that it was even more successful than last year. Our deepest gratitude goes to Georgina Terrazas and Betty Rodriguez from Telemundo who were the MCs for the evening. The presence of Telemundo Television has had an major impact in broadcasting our ongoing community programs, they were also responsible for coordinating all artistic presentations including the folkloric dance group Orgullo De Mi Tierra and Nuevos Valores of Mexican music. We want to thank Republic National Distributing for being a major supporter of Camino Real Rotary Club, their participation made this event possible to benefit our flag program CORAZON DE NIÑOS which is focused on evaluating, treating and intervening surgically on kids with genetic cardiopathies. Our guests enjoyed tequila tasting of different makers at different stations located throughout the always beautiful El Paso Desert Botanical Garden facility. We were visited by Jaime Rodriguez who traveled from Dallas to speak about the history and evolution of tequila. Being en expert, he impressed most of us with his vast knowledge and experience about this subject. We also served dinner and other appetizers while we all presenced the Orgullo De Mi Tierra folkloric dance group. These charming young girls and boys performed a number of different regional dances of Mexico with great enthusiasm and enjoyment. At the end of the event the winners of the Silent Auction were named and each one kindly covered their bids, to all the winners THANKS FOR YOUR SPECIAL SUPPORT!! We are very greatful to the members of NO D.U.I. El PASO for attending our event, this is a group of young volunteers who pledge their time as designated drivers to safely return anyone in need to their respective homes, you are all life savers, THANK YOU!! All in all it was an unforgetable evening that everyone enjoyed. A BIG "THANK YOU" TO ALL OUR GUESTS, YOUR PRESENCE AND SUPPORT ENABLE OUR CLUB AND ALL ITS HARD WORKING MEMBERS TO GIVE KIDS A SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!
